2018 OPEN MEET write up

The 2018 Open Meet was a huge success with a great turnout, unlike the cancelled date in March the weather decided to be kind to us and the sunshine was glorious.

There were some amazing performances by all and it was great to see the preparation the athletes had put in, pay off.

The 100m was a very competitive field which saw 2 men under 11s , whilst 11 men ran under 12s. Our very own Dom Lee a first year student studying Engineering ran a PB of 12s . The winner of the women's 100m was U20 Heidi Norgrove in a time SB time of 12.77s, Anita Dzre was close behind for second place in a SB 12.93s.

The 200m had a clear winner in the form of Elliot Jones, from Warwick uni who ran 22.24s. Four other athletes also ran under the 23s. Vincent Ly of Leicester University managed to run a  PB of 26.72. There was only one female competitor in the 200m Zydonie Fearon who ran a SB of 27.29.
